We met at 16, in sixth form at De La Salle. What started as something simple quickly became constant, without us even realising that we were beginning something that would last.
We travelled to Paris for the first time together, with our families along for the ride. It was not quite our first trip alone, but it was the beginning of discovering places together, learning how we travel, and creating memories outside of our everyday lives.
We both started university and stepped into a completely new phase of life, still side by side. Between lectures, new routines, and figuring out who we were becoming, we learned how to grow individually while continuing to grow together.
This was the year everything started to feel more real. Sharing such an important family moment together made us realise that we were no longer just part of each other’s lives, but fully part of each other’s families. It was one of those moments where everything quietly shifted.
Like the rest of the world, everything slowed down. Covid kept us apart for a while, at a time when we were both navigating important decisions about our future. Even through the uncertainty and distance, we remained a constant in each other’s lives.
We did long distance when Katrina moved to London for a year. It was not always easy adjusting to new routines, time apart, and a different pace of life, but it gave us clarity. It showed us how strong we were and how much we were willing to choose each other, every single day.
We celebrated Katrina's graduation together, a moment that meant so much after years of work and everything we had been through. Being there for that milestone reminded us how much we had supported each other through every stage of our lives.
We celebrated Andreas' graduation and stepped fully into a new chapter of life together. After years of studying and growing up side by side, we were now facing adult life, making decisions, and continuing to show up for each other through every big moment.
In London, in one of our favourite parks, a place that once symbolised distance between us became the place where everything changed. Surrounded by memories of that chapter, we chose forever in a moment that felt both surreal and completely certain.
We started building our home and shaping what our life together would look like. Between plans, decisions, and everyday moments, we began creating something that felt like more than just a house, it felt like us.
A year of final touches, big decisions, and taking the time to enjoy this chapter before everything changes. It has been about appreciating how far we have come and everything we have built together along the way.
After everything we have experienced, built, and grown through together, we cannot wait to say "I do" surrounded by all the people we love and begin the next chapter of our lives.
